Dr. David Dismukes

Dr. David I. Dismukes graduated Magna Cum Laude from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. From there he completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. He was then accepted into and completed a 4-year residency/clinical instructorship in small animal surgery at University of Missouri. During his residency Dr. Dismukes concurrently obtained a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Science focusing on canine pelvic limb alignment. In 2009, he completed rigorous testing to become a board-certified veterinary surgeon in small animal surgery. He has been in private specialty practice since 2009. He is currently the only practicing board-certified veterinary surgeon in Birmingham and the surrounding area. He now lives in Helena with his wife, Dr. Jana Korsch-Dismukes, his twin daughters and his dogs. Dr. Dismukes enjoys spending time with his family, being in the outdoors, swimming, hunting, fishing and beekeeping. His professional goal is to provide cutting-edge orthopedic surgical options to dogs and cats in need of his help.

Dr. Jana Korsch-Dismukes

Dr. Jana Korsch-Dismukes graduated suma cum laude from Mississippi State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. From there she completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. She went on to complete a 3-year residency at Veterinary Eye Care in Birmingham, Alabama. In 2008 she became a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist. She has been practicing ophthalmology in private practice in the Birmingham area since then. She now lives in Helena with her husband Dr. David Dismukes, their twin daughters and dogs. Dr. Korsch-Dismukes enjoys spending time with her family, being in the outdoors, swimming and gardening. Her professional goal is to provide the highest quality, cutting edge diagnostic and treatment options to pets that need her help. As a comparative ophthalmologist, Dr. Korsch-Dismukes has treated animal eyes of many species including lizards, flamingos, sea lions, turtles, raptors, pet birds, chinchillas, horses, goats, dogs, cats and more.
